King Canoe

King Canoe are an eight-piece all-original instrumental reggae outfit stacked with stalwarts of Melbourne's soul and reggae scene — members also play in The Meltdown, The Putbacks, Quarter Street and The Red Eyes, with credits alongside The Congos, Mavis Staples, Prince Alla, Maceo Parker and Syl Johnson. Drawing on the golden era of 1960s Jamaican rocksteady, they bring big bass, ripper horn lines and live dub FX to a classic sound — bringing a fresh take to a classic genre.
